Norfolkline have it ‘cracked’ for kids!
Norfolkline recently announced the launch of the fantastic new children’s book ‘Shelltown’ and the good egg gang, that is now being sold on-board Norfolkline ships and terminals.
Shelltown has been developed by Bernard Sparkes and his wife Patricia, from Northern Ireland, and is based on stories written by Patricia for their 14 children as they were growing up.
Her stories follow the lives of three 'good eggs' called Splat, Cracker and Exactly, and their run-ins with the Bad Eggs Gang.
In the new book, titled, 'The Meggabike' Splat, Cracker and Exactly, the good egg gang, are egg-sited about the annual Shelltown Race, but when they arrive at Exactly’s laboratory they are devastated to discover that Exactly’s invention the amazing Meggabike has gone... Readers will empathise with these three characters. They are funny, feisty, inventive and sometimes a bit naughty - just like the real thing!
The book is priced at £4.95 and a donation from the sale of the book will go to the National Autistic Society, as Patricia & Bernard have two autistic children.
The Shelltown books proved such a success that the couple launched Shelltown Productions and funded a pilot animation.
Incredibly, the 4 ½ -minute pilot was spotted by Boyzone star Ronan Keating, who agreed to lend his voice to the lead character and write and perform the theme tune. Johnny Vegas and Sir Kenneth Branagh are also set to follow suit.
Shelltown mascot, Splat, was recently pictured on board alongside Diane Roberts and Leanne Taylor, to promote the new launch.
