Make Waves This Valentine's Day With A Romantic Break
Across The Channel
Leading ferry operator, DFDS Seaways, (formerly Norfolkline), has created a special valentine's menu onboard its Dover-France fleet, designed to help you find the way to your valentine’s heart this February. And with crossings starting at £25 each way for a car and up to four passengers, you can have your romantic cake and eat it without breaking the bank.
The special three-course valentine's menu, which costs just £19.95 per person, is available from lunchtime onwards in the Bistro, which has panoramic views across the Channel. The special dishes include sweet Thai style king prawns, or pan seared sea bass fillet, followed by a decadent chocolate torte with sugar roasted strawberries and clotted cream.
Chris Newey, director of passenger services for the cross-Channel route at DFDS Seaways, said:
“We wanted to share the love with our passengers this year, and thought a special menu created by our head chef would be the perfect way to convey this.
“And with a whole host of romantic destinations just a short car journey from the port of Dunkirk, including Bruges and Paris, it couldn’t be easier to get away for the weekend, or longer.”
Current DFDS Seaways offers include:
• ‘24hr offer’ – car and up to four passengers, £19 same day return – go to Norfolkline.com and input following code: 24SB
• ‘5 day offer’ – five day return with £10 off – to book go to norfolkline.com and input: 5SB
• Both offers are subject to normal terms and conditions and are available until 14th April 2011.
For those that are planning something extra special, passengers can also choose to upgrade to the VIP lounge, which costs from as little as £9.60 extra per person.
As the only ferry operator offering passage from Dover to Dunkirk, car passengers are able to benefit from easy disembarkation, as Dunkirk has little of the congestion associated with Calais. Dunkirk also provides the perfect entry point to France, with good links to major arterial roads, which make travelling to places like France, Belgium, Holland and Spain easy.
Travelling by ferry is also relatively stress free. DFDS Seaways ferries have fantastic onboard facilities, including dedicated children’s play and entertainment areas, and a range of quality restaurants and comfortable seating – plus excellent views of the White Cliffs of Dover. And with minimal luggage restrictions, there could not be an easier way to travel!
