Jacopo Fava

MISE trainee at Norfolkline

Norfolkline represents the first employment after my graduation in Economics in 2005. I was attracted to join the training programme offered by APM Maersk via Norfolkline because of its uniqueness and comprehensiveness compared to other ‘International Training Programmes’ available in the market.

The organization is based on consolidated values and attitudes towards its employees and business partners. It represents a ‘school’ for both professional and personal growth. The truly international part of my job, together with the opportunity to acknowledge the different components of the business, is guaranteed by continuous rotations amongst the two distinct divisions placed in around ten different countries.

In particular, in less then two years, I got the opportunity to experience customer service practices in the Italian office while dealing with shipments from Italy to Scandinavia, get acquainted with sophisticated financial procedures in the Netherlands while preparing Group consolidated figures and reports, and understand how to manage sales negotiations, marketing researches and website applications in United Kingdom, while dealing with customers crossing the Channel with Norfolkline vessels.

I already suggested this experience to most of my friends, and I would do the same with any graduate seeking for a meaningful job experience.
