Open day & name giving ceremony at Norfolkline’s terminal in Vlaardingen
Norfolkline will host its first open day at the Vlaardingen Terminal on June 20th. The name giving ceremony of the Maas Viking will be held in the morning on the same day.
The terminal will be open for public from 10.30 to 17.00.
In conjunction with the Loggerfestival which takes place in the city centre of Vlaardingen, visitors can take a boat at the Maasboulevard straight to the Vlaardingen Terminal from 10.30 to 16.00.
Visitors can go onboard one of the vessels, tour around the workshop and enjoy live entertainment during the day.
Kell Robdrup, Managing Director of the ferry division, commented:
"It is our first open day and we hope that visitors will learn more about Norfolkline’s state-of-the-art terminal in Vlaardingen, our modern ro-ro vessels, our technology and of course, our great people."
Mayor Bruinsma of Vlaardingen will attend our official name giving ceremony of the Maas Viking.
The Maas Viking, a 3,700 lane meter ro-ro vessel, is one of the two chartered new builds which will be added to the Vlaardingen-Killingholme service this year.
Rob Olbertz, Route Director North Sea, commented:
"The Maas Viking is the latest addition to Norfolkline’s fleet. With a capacity of 250 unaccompanied trailers, the Maas Viking will provide room for growth in the future. We are honored to organize the Name Giving of the new vessel in Vlaardingen and are happy we can combine this event with the open day. This gives us the opportunity to share this unique experience with our customers and neighbours."
