Norfolkline to "stick" with Johnsons Coffee

Friday, April 10, 2009:  Norfolkline and Johnsons Coffee celebrate the continuation of their partnership on the Irish Sea with an innovative marketing campaign.

Norfolkline and Johnsons Coffee are to continue their partnership which sees Johnsons supplying Bellagio Espresso coffee plus all hot beverages onboard all Norfolkline ferry sailings between the Ireland and the UK.

Johnsons Coffee, who import only the highest grades of pure Arabica coffee, supply Norfolkline with Bellagio Espresso Beans for the Viking espresso bars on the Liverpool-Belfast and Liverpool-Dublin routes, and Irish Sea onboard staff are currently being trained in espresso technique, which will culminate with an Irish Sea Barista competition being held on April 20th.

Julie McCroy (Malmaison Belfast), Phillip Mills (Business Director at Johnson's Coffee) and Diane Poole (General Manager -Passenger, Norfolkline Irish Sea) got together to celebrate the continuation of this partnership, with a unique marketing promotion.

The aim is to target both the retail sector and food services sector in the UK and Ireland. For retail, 10,000 Norfolkline stickers have been placed on Johnsons Coffee packs that are sold in retail outlets throughout the country.

Norfolkline’s latest deals at a discounted rate have been printed on these stickers alongside details of a competition to stay in the chic Malmaision Hotel in Belfast or Liverpool. For the food sector, Johnsons Coffee have distributed five thousand flyers to the café’s and restaurants they supply with the details of Norfolkline offers and the competition with The Malmasion feature on the inside of the flyer.

Diane Poole, General Manager – Passenger at Norfolkline Irish Sea commented;

“We are delighted to be developing the partnership with Johnsons Coffee and giving us an opportunity to give something back to our customers with this great competition and  fantastic fare.  We are even giving our customers extra re-assurance with our new redundancy refund policy. We have been extremely impressed not only with the Johnsons products, but also the comprehensive knowledge and experience Johnsons brings to our beverage offering.”

Philip Mills, Business Director at Johnsons Coffee, added;

“Johnsons Coffee is delighted with the success of this partnership. Passengers onboard Norfolkline ferries have been enjoying our Bellagio Espresso coffee and this promotion will hopefully encourage our retail and foodservice customers to experience a relaxing Irish Sea crossing with Norfolkline at a discounted rate.”
